All classes are taught in Billingslea Hall (Chapel Building) on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour at 10:00 a.m.

What is Sunday School?

Sunday School is the foundational strategy in a local church for leading people to faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and for building great commission Christians through Bible study groups which engage people in evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, ministry, and worship. Classes meets each Sunday at 10:00 a.m.

 

Men Adult Class #1 (For Men of all Ages)

It is the goal of this class to continue to consider each and every lesson, in all of their various degrees of hallowed antiquity, bringing them full circle, so that each and every one of us can glean some practical sense of life application from them. Finally, it is the goal of this class to aid in the discovery of any untapped God-given gift, of any member, so that they may be realized, matured, and nurtured with a never ending barrage of one common theme – the edification of the Body of Christ.

 

Men Adult Class #2 (For Men of all Ages)

It is the goal of this class to reiterate the fact that Christian Education undergirds the whole program of the church. We strive to instill within our learners, both serious and casual, the importance of regular and consistent Sunday School attendance. We strive to equip the saints so the word of God will remain manifest in every facet of our lives.

 

Women Adult Class (For Women of all Ages)

The goal of this class is to facilitate bible study opportunities for all women that in turn will cause us to re-evaluate our behaviors and how it impacts the lives of other individuals. We strive to offer encouragement to our women so that they may become committed Christians who study the Bible on a daily basis.

 

Couples Class (For Couples Married 6 years and more)

The objective of this class is to learn about Jesus and His ministry, and how it can benefit us in our daily lives. We strive to become better Christians in our society today by applying the principles we discuss to our lives and learn to practice what we preach. We also desire to give each learner the confidence they need to always be ready to present the gospel to give the Spirit the opportunity to draw souls to Himself.

 

Couples United Class (For Couples Married 6 years and more)

The objective of this class is to learn about Jesus and His ministry and how it can benefit us in our daily lives. We strive to become better Christians in our society today by applying the principles we discuss to our lives and learn to practice what we preach. We also desire to give each learner the confidence they need to always ready to present the gospel and to give the Spirit the opportunity to draw souls to Himself.

 

Bible Studies For Life (All Adults)

Bible Studies for Life is designed to help people in groups connect God’s Word to their lives in an intentional way. Every session is built on an all-new, research-backed discipleship plan that wisely helps Adults:

  • Know God’s Word through trustworthy Bible Study content
  • Create biblical community through engaging and conversational group studies
  • Engage culture missionally by unpacking what the Bible says about real-life issues

 

Singles Class (For Single Male & Female, Single Again, Divorced, Widow/Widower, etc.)

The objective of this class is to equip the students with the tools that they will need to have a personal relationship with God. Our goal is to grow teachers, leaders, and missionary workers.

 

9:00 a.m. Class

If you are only hungry for the Word and not breakfast, this class meets immediately following 7:45 worship. The class is designed to provide every learner the opportunity to participate in an organized Bible Study environment that helps them understand how to live the life that God has called us to live as Christians. It is impossible to “do” His will if we don’t “know” His will for our lives, So, “Come let us reason together.

 

College and Career Class (Grade 12 – College)

The objective of this class is to deliver the Word of God, which will equip the students to apply what they have learned in their daily lives. We will strive to prepare the High School Seniors for college entry and help prepare the college students for the world of work. We will accomplish this by using practical examples to support their understanding of the Word and by using special topics and speakers on different occasions.

Kindergarten (Preschool)

The purpose of this class is to help children lay foundations for faith in ways appropriate to the children’s ages and individual needs. Materials are provided for babies and ones; twos and threes; and fours and five year olds.

Primary Class (Grades 1 & 2)

It is the goal of this class to provide a Christian environment where the children will begin to understand the importance of a personal relationship with Christ. Our goal is to help each student learn how to pray and to know the Books of the Bible. We will stress the importance of bringing their Bibles so they can always read the Word for themselves and to know and recognize the church and the ministries of the church.

 

Junior Boys (Grades 4 & 5)

It is the objective of this class to provide age appropriate biblically based instruction to reach the hearts, minds, and souls of every young man that enters the class. We also work to encourage and reinforce a love for God, self-respect as well as respect for authority, and respect for their fellow man. We strive to teach God’s word without compromise so these boys will begin to know how to share the gospel and their faith. Our goal is for every learner to know the name and order of the books of the Bible and how to conduct a proper devotion.

 

Junior Girls (Grades 4 & 5)

The objective of this class is to provide bible study opportunities that will help these young ladies develop a healthy, stable and growing relationship with Christ. The student will develop their God-given gifts, talents and abilities. Our goal is that every girl will commit their life to Christ and learn how to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray that each student will learn how to pray for themselves and others, and how to read and study God’s Word.

 

Intermediate Class

The objective of this class is to provide Bible Study opportunities that will help these learners develop a healthy, stable and growing relationship with Christ. The student will develop their God-given gifts, talents and abilities. Our goal is that they will commit their life to Christ and learn how to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We pray that each student will learn how to pray for themselves and others and how to read and study God’s Word.

 

Teen Girls (Grades 9 – 11)

It is the objective of this class to provide high school girls biblically based instruction that will prepare them for the challenges they will face as they leave high school and move on to college or the world of work. Our goal is to increase spiritual growth by making application of the Bible lessons and challenging each learner to put the principles discussed into practice in their own lives.

 

Teen Boys (Grades 9-11)

It is the objective of this class to train young men for the world they are about to enter by providing biblically based teaching that will serve as their guide and to help them to learn to apply each lesson or principle to their lives. It is our goal to help each young man to learn the books of the Bible and to master the Sword Drill. We also strive to teach students how to study and interpret the Bible.

Bible Study

WEDNESDAY BIBLE STUDY

Wednesday Morning Bible Study

The objective for this class is to give those individuals who are unable to attend the Wednesday evening Bible Study the opportunity to continue their spiritual development by having an opportunity during the day to attend. Class meets every Wednesday in Billingslea Hall (Chapel Building) at 11:00 a.m.

Bethlehem Baptist Church offers Wednesday evening Bible Study in Sammons Chapel at 7:00 p.m.

Grief Discovery Group

This Group serves to offer insightful principles from God’s Word to help persons through the grieving process to recovery, because sooner or later, everyone will experience pain and sadness. Individuals will find help in dealing with profound losses such as the death of a loved one, the loss of a job, a broken relationship, the loss of an identity, or the loss of a dream or goal.

Discipleship Training

What is Discipleship Training?

Discipleship Training provides the process for spiritual growth in each area of our lives to be made more pleasing to the Lord. “That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God.” (Colossians 1:10) Classes are taught in the Education Building on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m.

 

Victory in Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual warfare helps learners tackle challenges and obstacles with spiritual power and God’s authority as they:

  • understand how the battle is fought by Satan
  • actively use the armor of God
  • find strength in prayer and sufficiency in Christ
  • win over chemical, sexual, emotional, relational, and other strongholds.

 

Defend Your Faith

The objective of this class is to help you adequately express your believe in God in an ever hostile world. Come and learn how to present a theological argument and how to refute common objections against Faith.

 

Knowing Scripture

We are believers of scripture! But sometimes we feel inadequate in using it. Come learn how to study God’s word and dig to find the Eternal true, which is relevant to all of life.

 

Mind of Christ

Mind of Christ: The objective of this class is to help you understand how God works within you and transforms you, continually renewing and reshaping your mind to reflect more closely His own. The whole focus is on giving you ideas you can apply immediately in your life, to bring you spiritually closer to the perfect example of our Lord.

 

Experiencing God

Experiencing God: The objective of this class to awaken believers to a radically God-centered way of life. Learners will come to know God intimately, recognize His voice, understand His will for their lives, know when God is speaking, recognize His activity around you, adjust your life to reflect His ways, identify what He wants to do through you, and respond to His activity in your life.

 

Articles of Faith

Articles of Faith: The objective of this class is to inform Christians in the Baptist Denomination of the doctrines (teaching) of faith that forms the basis of our belief and teaches us the practices and principles of the Baptist Church. Prerequisite course to all other Discipleship Training courses.

The objective of this class is to provide individuals the opportunity to explore their call to the teaching ministry of the church and to learn some basic strategies that will be beneficial in the leading of the class they may be called to lead. Class meets Wednesday nights (4 weeks, or as needed) in the BBC Education Bldg.
